G&T Conveyor and The Horsley Company (THC), recently renamed and reorganized as Five Star Airport Alliance (FSAA), is happy to announce its recent project success in Little Rock, Arkansas at the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (CNA) as well as the upcoming completion of the Honolulu International Airport (HNL) project. The project at CNA marks the first milestone of achievement for the Five Star Airport Alliance in 2013. This successful completion is a testament to the strength of the organization; which remains a driving force in the baggage handling industry.

Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (CNA) Outbound Baggage Handling System

February 2013 - Ronald F. Mathieu, Executive Director at the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport states, "We believe our BHS is one of the best designed and constructed systems in the nation." The project at CNA began in January of 2012 and includes over 2000 linear feet of conveyor, four input belts, one oversize belt, four slope plate make-up units, and three L3 DX-6600 EDS machines. One of the most outstanding parts of this project were the ISAT test results which included a 300 Mixed Bag Test with a zero percent error rate and a 200 Bag Through-put (rate) Test with only a 1% error rate and an overall rate of 1,032 bags per hour. According to the Battelle Project Manager, "[These are] outstanding results that just don’t normally happen."

"We greatly appreciate the effort, care and professionalism that you [Martin Ineichen] and the G&T staff have given the BHS at Clinton National Airport. Your team has made a major contribution to our success, and we want to make sure that you receive fair recognition." - Tom Clarke, Director - Properties, Planning, and Development, Bill & Hillary Clinton National Airport.

Honolulu International Airport EDS Integration Improvements

July 2013 will mark the completion of the largest Five Star Airport Alliance project to date, at Honolulu International Airport. Five Star Airport Alliance’s THC is nearing the completion of the new outbound EDS system at HNL which encompasses lobbies four, five, six, seven and eight (Noteworthy: lobbies two and three were previously completed by FSAA /THC in August of 2007). The current project includes more than 8,000 feet of transport conveyor manufactured by Five Star Airport Alliance at its world headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah. The HNL project involves the modification of existing inbound lines to accommodate the new outbound systems in five lobbies. In addition, Five Star Airport Alliance will complete the turnkey installation of four separate EDS pods in sequenced phases (lobbies four, five, seven and eight). Each new EDS pod will have four L3 3DX 6600 units placed inline and fully integrated along with a new ETD Room for each lobby. The entire system will be connected with two new redundant control rooms using state-of-the-art controls and software.

The Future of Five Star Airport Alliance

The reorganization and consolidation of G&T and THC into the Five Star Airport Alliance at the beginning of 2013 heralds the commencement of the most successful and competitive years for these leaders in the baggage handling industry. The completion of the CNA project and the upcoming completion of the HNL project, illustrate how the Five Star Airport Alliance has successfully combined two of the most notable performers in the baggage handling industry into the largest, privately held turnkey manufacturer in the United States, solely dedicated to the manufacture and installation of Airport Baggage Handling Systems. With a collective 105 years of experience and customer satisfaction, Five Star Airport Alliance will undoubtedly continue as one of the top performers in the industry for many years to come.
